What is an app and what can it do for you and your brand?
An app is an “application” of small piece of software that is typically run on a smartphone or tablet.
These can include for example games (like Angry Birds); banking Apps (FNB); magazines/podcasts and daily news (You Magazine, Getaway, JSE, News 24, MoneyWeb), sports apps (IRB Rugby 7’s, Supersport Guide or the Currie Cup); travel (short descriptions on destinations and weather i.e. the Disney App), movie and entertainment (DSTV and NuMetro). All major companies in South Africa will be able to tell you what is an app – because they already have one!
In fact, there are apps for just about anything you can imagine.
In the Android store there were 400 000 apps at the start of 2012 and in the Apple store there are over 500 000 apps. In the last 5 months alone 100 000 were added to the Android store illustrating the exponential increase in this market.

What is an app without a loyalty feature?
All loyalty programs (air miles, stamps, frequent shopping cards) are all aimed at encouraging your customers to return and make another purchase. An app should be no different and the SnAPP apps allow you to use the phone to either track the number of times a customer has been in store (GPS based) or via the in-built QR scanning system.

Drive Sales
And lastly what is an app without the ability to drive more sales, get more people thought the door, sell your clothing line from the golf store, book a tour. SnAPP apps have a food ordering tab, a party reservation tab, as well as shopping carts. The reservations tab is coming soon! Remember your customers can also call, email, and connect socially!

* In this case the app was ready but the restaurant not – we often find making the app makes the customer tidy up their site, or get more organised.
